Onyaktech - Free DNN Module by OnyakTech

What is QPoke? Qpoke is a message board that displays messages at the module, portal or global level with instant notifications through a Windows Vista gadget, Google Sidebar gadget or a Windows System Tray pop-up.   Giving you the ability to notify users of important information even if they are not surfing the web or looking at their email.  The QPoke Gadgets are dynamically created when it's downloaded from your web site to give you a custom Windows Vista and Google Sidebar Gadget that is specifically configured with your settings in QPoke.  You control the messages displayed, who can download the gadget, who can post new messages and who can delete messages all secured by DotNetNuke Roles.  You can even customize the gadgets title and the web site people are taken to when they click the title.

Going Global: You can limit the messages people see in the QPoke DNN Module and in the QPoke gadgets and Windows System Tray popup to only those messages posted to a specific module or to a specific DotNetNuke portal.  But take it farther and go Global to allow new messages to be visible on all portals.   When you go global, the QPoke Gadget will display new messages from any portal and clicking the message link will take you directly to the portal and page in that portal that the message was originally posted to.  Or limit the global viewing to site administrators only and watch all of the message posting to your portals from your gadget.

You are not limited to a specific security setting.  Gadgets are created using the module settings at the time they are downloaded so you can provide one instance of QPoke that provides module level visibility and another instance of QPoke that provides global or portal visibility.

Windows Vista and Google Sidebar Gadgets can be downloaded directly from QPoke and quickly installed and running by double-clicking the download.  There are no settings, no hard to explain instructions, no web service URL's....just download and double-click!

The Windows System Tray application will need to provided as a separate download from your site or installed and configured for your end users.

Bring2Mind - DotNetNuke gets capital injection

Good news came in this week. It has been in the air for some time and those of you who've attended OpenForce have surely heard rumors about this. DNN has raised venture capital (I'm not a silicon valley resident, so the 'series A' label threw me off). This means a group of investors came to the conclusion that their money would probably make more money by injecting it into DotNetNuke Corp. Given the fact that we're talking Open Source software and we're in an economic downturn, I'd say this is quite something the corp have managed to pull off here.

Onyaktech - New DotNetNuke Module: Ads 3.0

OnyakTech Ads is a DotNetNuke module that displays information and/or advertisements in a window like a pop-up, but it sneaks by pop-up blockers to guarantee ad delivery. While OnyakTech Ads easily allows you to place advertisements on your web site, it can also be used for other purposes. Due to the way your information is displayed, you can also use OnyakTech Ads for those times when you need to make sure information is delivered without having it removed by pop-up blockers. Other new features also allow you to display different ads from hyperlinks or secure ads to specific DotNetNuke Security Roles.

Dynamic Content
New in OnyakTech Ads 3.0 is the ability to display ads with information from a hyperlink or specific to the current user. This is a great marketing feature that allows you to get personal with your web site visitors by displaying their information. For example, your ad may start something like “Hello John! Would you like to meet other people who live in Ohio?....”. In that example, the visitors name and region will be taken from their user profile and displayed in your ad. You can even display custom profile property information from the current users profile.

Hyperlink Control
By use of a few query string parameters, you can display specific ads and even custom content. This is a great way for you to specific ads from email marketing newsletters you sent out using NukeAlert. Or during your link exchanges using LinkNex, you can provide different links to different sites so that you can deliver specific ads based on the web site they were referred by.

Secured Ad Content
You can now secure ads to a specific DotNetNuke Role allowing you to display information secured to a specific group of people. This is a great way to notify internal departments of information specific to them or provide special product sales ads to your most valued customers.

OnyakTech Ads is included in the OnyakTech Complete Package
This module is included with the OnyakTech Complete DotNetNuke package.
