Active Modules - Active Forums 4.2 and Active Social 1.5
As many of you know, we have released Active Social 1.5 and Active Forums 4.2 this week.  Active Forums 4.2 is now available for all versions: Lite, Express, Standard, and Enterprise.  Major updates with these releases pertain to forum permissions and how the forum security relates to Active Social Groups.  For complete release notes, please follow these links: Active Social and Active Forums.

As previously done for Active Social, Active Forums documentation has been consolidated in the Active Forums Knowledge Base in the Community Forums on our website.

We would like to thank all our customers who tested the Beta versions of Active Social 1.5 and Active Forums 4.2.  Your help in releasing these versions is very much appreciated!

Active Modules - Beta Release of Active Forums 4.2 and Active Social 1.5
Beta versions of Active Forums 4.2 and Active Social 1.5 are now available to Active Forums Enterprise and Active Social Customers.  Active Forums Enterprise customers that do not have Active Social will also have access to Active Social 1.5.  We have also added an extra incentive to beta participants that encounter and report any bugs that they may find.  Each beta release also has a supported upgrade path to the final production release.

I don't expect the beta release to last more than a couple of days.  Both versions are considered feature complete with very short lists of known issues.  However, eventhough we are running these releases on activesocial.com and activemodules.com they are still considered BETA.

Here are few links about these new releases (some might have restricted access):

Onyaktech - OnyakTech Releases Soma Elite 3.5 for DotNetNuke

Soma Elite 3.5 is now available from www.OnyakTech.com for DotNetNuke. Soma Elite is a powerful content processing module for DotNetNuke that makes it easy to improve your existing content regardless of the module or skin it’s created by. Turn simple text into exciting interactive information by using Soma’s Tag Rendering Engine.

Improve Existing Content: Use Soma Elite to change every instance of a word on your site to a clickable link that will display a pop-up window that provides more information about that word, streaming video, flash, audio file and more.

Save Time: With Soma Elite you can now turn boring text into fully interactive content. The best part is that if you need to change that content you only need to update Soma Elite. You no longer need to update countless modules, articles, etc. One simple change in Soma Elite automatically changes every instance of that content throughout your entire web site.

Easy To Use: Create a Tag in Soma Elite for the word “ProductX” that is a PopUp Window with full details, images, video, etc about “ProductX”. Next, add Soma Elite to pages on your site that you want to be processed. Any instance of the word “ProductX” on your site will be replaced with a hyperlink that will open a pop-up window with the HTML content you specified. That’s it!
