i have gone through these tutorials just fine, but twice when I got to the point of changing the web.config file.  IIS will no long have access to the database locally.  the errors were permission errors.  And the kicker is if you just change the webconfig file back to what it was, it still will not give access to the data base.  It will gain access to the databse if I use the  VWD built in webhost.  so if i right click on the site and say show in browser it will run using a localhost a url like this
http://localhost:2168/4602BETA

the errors varied based on my track to hack this but they are all basically this.

Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'WEDONTCAREWHATD\ASPNET'.
errors are all permission errors

I probably will just extract the skins from it and let it die since there is no data in it.   this post on dnn seems to suggest that it is not worth trying to fix.  Which I agree, especially in my case, but it would be nice to know what causes this serious problem.

Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'WEDONTCAREWHATD\ASPNET'.

I think this may have to do with the setting in sql express about using both windows and sql, which was not an option in the latest version.

Hello,

What is detailed in that post is exactly the method I have used in the video tutorial, except for the login section. - I would suggest you re-watch video two: http://www.dnncreative.com/Localhosttolivewebsite/tabid/348/Default.aspx

Have you created a new login account to access your database? and specified those details in your web.config file?
