Hi,
I've watched your videos on getting the FCKEditor editarea to match the skins styles by using the Dynamic setting. But it doesnt seem to apply to tables - is that right? The font-size in a table while editing is too big.
Thanks

There may be some styles defined in default.css or portal.css that interfere or override. You can try removing them. The Web Developer's Toolbar may be of help in locating these styles.

THanks for the reply, Joe,

The portal.css and default.css files are empty in my site.

When I inspect the table cell using Firebug, the styles are the same both when I inspect the table outside the editor, and when editing in FckEditor. However the computed font sizes from Firebug are given as 10px when outside the editor and 16px when editing. The only css effecting the font-size is from the body {font-size: 62.5%}.

So it seems that FckEditor is ignoring the font-size from the body tag when displaying the table.

Ed

If you recall, you are able to setup a body class for the FCK Editor, so you would need to specify the table details in the body tag for the FCK editor.

Yes, that worked in IE but not in Firefox for some reason -
using #fckbody td {font-size: 62.5%;} in skin.css.
Maybe the way to go is to use custom editor area css file instead of the dynamic option, and use fixed pixel size fonts for admin/editing mode.

yes that may possibly work, I will be interested to hear what you implement as a solution. Keep us posted, thanks,

Oh,  I tried again today with Firefox and the fckbody tag worked this time - must have been a caching problem yesterday.
So the question is why I need the fckbody tag anyway. In my skin.css the body font-size is set to 62.5% by default, and the table td inherits this OK, except in the fckeditor. Maybe I'll wait and see what happens in DNN5.

In the tutorial we set it up to use it's own body tag to demonstrate potential problems with skins having dark backgrounds. - So you maybe able to remove references in the FCK settings for the FCK body and have it working ok.

I don't think there will be any changes for the FCK configuration in DNN 5.
