Nice plans and they seem technically good.
However, I wouldn't recommend them. Check out other DotNetNuke hosting companies 1st before you decide on your hosting business partner.

Why?
They just don't structure their hosting contracts and customer service attitude to honor customers and strive for mutually beneficial business partnership contracts and inter-personal relationships. They seem one-side in my opinion. "It's all about them".

I totally disagree with the last post.  WebSecureStores is great!

Check out the posts in the ASP.net DNN forum for other opinions.

I have been hosting with WebSecureStores for almost a year now and I'm very happy.  Their support is fantastic and very responsive.  I have 6 DNN web sites hosted with them and I have no complaints.  They know DNN and I have seen them spend a full day working an issue I had (sporadic email send failure) and they did not quit until it was resolved.  This is dedication like I have not seen before.

I would recommend them for DNN hosting to anyone!

I have one site with over 1,000 members now and performance is great (on a cheap shared account); so is uptime and the price is right too.

Try them.  You'll be happy.

I don't work for WebSecureStores...I'm just a customer.

I, too, have been hosting with Web Secure Stores for over a year and have been very happy with their price, service and up-time.

They spent a lot of time helping me plan my first DNN install, especially getting a secure certificate and setting up HTTPS.  They even installed DNN for me!

I will be publishing several more DNN sites this year and am completely confident WSS will be able to meet all my needs.

I can recommend them without hesitation.

Unfortunately, I still have no answer to the mail I sent them for an account... That's a pity, I am not confident anymore. For your information, I have setup a compilation of hosting provider here: http://declic-video-fx.com/dnnhosting.aspx (I will soon complete it with speed access and # address).
I would like to add WebSecureStores, but I still have no answer. If someone know how they could be contacted, I would be very pleased.

I have weird situation recently with WSS.
I'll tell you the story but first want to know what are the main facts causing slowness of download (upload) speed from one DNN site (verzion4.3.5) ?

I have been using WebSecureStores hosting now for about a year and a half. I have three sites hosted with them and have been real happy. Their tech support has been great.

Thank God somebody replied.
I have site there for almost two years now, and was very satisfied with performance and support until I upgrade dnn from 3.2.2 to dnn 4.3.5 (and asp.net 2.0). Before upgrading I ask them about transferring from sql 2000 to 2005 but they answered that 2005 is not ready yet (november 2006) and that it is better to keep sql 2000. I made a clean install and they restore my base quickly as they always did. Problem is that download now frequently brakes before end and it is slow (!) and when there is more traffic on the site it is even snail-paced. I complained (rather asked them about it) and the answer I was given is that download is OK with them since they are in US and me and my clients are too far away (Europe) and we couldn’t get more speed. That was answer that I didn’t expect to receive from anybody normal and correct in this business. Further more everything was OK with dnn 3.2.2 download speed and consistency. . . . and lately I have seen one hour down times.
What do you think about that? Is it that they are overcrowded? Do I have to believe in unbelievable or just pack my things (backup base and ftp site) and find somebody better (and closer ? ha, ha !) ?

Hello,

If I start getting problems like this and they are not helpful I always pack my bags and take my business elsewhere, it won't take you long to switch, and you will get better performance and reliability. - If you do switch speak to the help desk first and ask them about their DNN support and if they will help with the restoration of the site etc.

This site is hosted in America and I have no problem viewing it in the UK!

. . . and do you have some hosting company recomendation ?

I don't know why it would switch to bad hosting. - PowerDNN.com provide really good support for moving sites:

We have negotiated a special offer for the skinningtoolkit.com visitors:

If you sign up to Power DNN:
http://www.powerdnn.com/R3/SPECIALS/tabid/86/Default.aspx

and enter "SkinningToolkit.com" into the referral code you will receive a full free month trial instead of just 15days.

Others I use are Reseller Choice and Server Intellect. Reseller Choice is a good service and good control panel, Server Intellect support is not as good for DotNetNuke but their uptime is the best of these 3.

Thanks,

Hi Lee

Would you be able to expand on your reasons for using 3 different Hosting Providers (PowerDNN, Reseller Choice & Server Intellect).

Do each of them have different advantages / dis-advantages?

Is one better suited to hosting a single DNN Instance / Single Portal?

Is one better suited for hosting multiple portals?

Is one better suited if (like me) you are looking to design and host multiple portals for several different customers?

I am based in Brisbane Australia and I currently have my own site hosted with www.discountasp.net but I am looking for a DNN Hosting Provider that can provide me with a reliable, cost effective hosting platform where I can host multiple portals for multiple customers, either within a single instance of DNN or multiple instances utilising multiple SQL databases.

One final question.... how do email accounts generally work when you are hosting multiple portals within the same instance of DNN? I read somewhere that you can recieve "inbound" emails to multiple domain addresses but you can only send "oubound" email using the primary domain assocaited with the instance of DNN. Is this correct?

Hello,

I use different hosting providers to cover myself.  I have several projects which I earn an income from and each of them is hosted on a different provider.  This way if a hosting provider goes down / natural disasters etc. I can still earn an income from the other sites.

You can read my comments on each of those hosting providers in this forum.

I like reseller choice for hosting multiple portals and managing my clients accounts - all are separate installations using separate SQL databases.

Not sure about the e-mail question I guess this would depend on your hosting provider and how they setup multiple domains. - If this is for clients I would go with separate installations, at least then if a client causes their DotNetNuke installation to break the other installations will remain online.

Hope this provides some clues,
