Are you aware of HouseMenu not working in the new releases of DNN 4.5.5? I’ve been working on a skin based on your tutorials and when applied to our site after the upgrade all that renders is the [HOUSEMENU] without the menu. Have you been experiencing anything similar?

I have a fresh install of 4.5.5 running and would like to integrate the skin I’ve been working on, but haven’t been able to. I also read the House Menu does not cache with search engines. We are considering purchasing a CSS based skin on snowcovered.com (http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=7878) but I do not know if it will solve our 508 needs and the documentation says nothing about their menu.

Thomas

Hello,

I have just tested the house menu with a fresh installation of 4.5.5 and the simple red leaf skin and it runs okay.

It sounds as though you have installed the skin before installing the house menu. You will need to uninstall the skin, reinstall the house menu and then reinstall the skin.

Where did you read the HouseMenu does not cache with search engines? This links to Googles cache of the home page on DNN C
as you can see, the menu is cached.

The HouseMenu just creates an unordered List of links, so all of the search engines should be able to index the menu easily.

The skin link you refer to uses the SolpartMenu, so it will not be fully accessible. - I checked this by viewing the demo page and viewing the source code of the demo page.

When looking at 'pure CSS skins'  available on Snowcovered, always check a demo page and look at the source code because sometimes 'pure CSS skins'  are not pure CSS...
