Hi all,

I wonder if there is a module which is able to set different view permissons to certain parts of it and not only the module itself. This would be useful to me because I have a text which has some information that is to be visible to certain users only. So far, I have used two text/html modules with different view permissions but almost the same content to accomplish this. It would be better to use only one module because it saves work if the content is to be updated.

Thanks for any advice,

Knut Erik

I'm not aware of anything like that.

But, in the future I would expect to the the Text/HTML module's token replacement to include some conditional tokens.  That way, you could include content for specific security roles.  I don't have any idea when this will happen, though.

Joe,

Thanks for your reply! I guess I will have to use two modules as before.

You might want to take a look at some of the modules meant for multi-language sites.  Some may permit roles to be specified, too. I'm not sure, but have a memory that I've seen something like that.

Ventrian subscription tools module allows you to display content based on user role, however it is very similar to adding several modules to a page for each security role, rather than a paragraph of text for certain security roles. Have a look at www.ventrian.com for further information.

Lee, Thanks for replying. I think I can just as well use one module for each security role. Best regards, Knut Erik
