I am  new to DNN and began a site using the wizard. However, the "host" menu is now gone.  All I have is the admin menu.  In my reading, it talks about how important the host menu is.  Do I need it?  Is there a way to get it back?  Should I start over without the wizard?

I'm having to learn DNN in order to help others with it in my job, so I really need to understand it.  I'd appreciate any help!

Hello Wanda, welcome to the forum: - The host menu does not display if you are logged in as admin. It only displays when you are logged in as host.

When you create a new portal and specify a username and password for the portal, this is for the admin account. - If you log in with your host details for the overall DNN installation you will be able to view all of the portals within your installation and view the Host menu.

Hope this helps,

I had this problem also...

My whole Host account is gone.

When I login with Admin and I view all the User Accounts, the host account is no longer listed. This has happened to me with several installations!

How can I get the Host account back?

Hi,

Host is  menu is  available for  Superuser.

When you  install DNN it will ask for  New Admin and  Superuser Username/Password.

Try log on using superuser credentials and you will see Host menu.

Hope that helps

As Vijay mentioned, you have be logged in as host, or using an account with superuser privileges to see the host menu.

If you are logged in as an administrator, you'll see the Admin menu, but not the Host menu.
