Hello Lee and Joe,

I have been working a DNN site left behind by another company who developed some modules and implemented some things but now I am trying to do some styling on these modules and wonder how to do it.

What I am trying to style is a drop down list that is databound and hence is not static so I can't just go and do an inline style or as far as I can see put it in a stylesheet as I don't know what I would call the stlesheet in this case since I am not trying to style skin elements but module elemtns.

One vender who created or enhanced a DNN module for me cretaed a module.css file whereby I could style the module.  This was handy and I tried that same appraoch with this search_do module but apprently their must have been something written in the code of the module somehwere to tell this enhanced module to use a file called module.css at such and such a location for skinning purposes.

I guess module.css is not really a universal name for a css file that skins modules as skin.css is universal for the file needed to style a skin or perhaps portal.css and default.css to style universal elemnts not specified in the various skin.css files.

So in essence I have put a bit of code from viewsearch_do.ascx file to give you an idea of what I am trying to style.  I have saved in in a txt fild and uploaded it so hopefully the forum module here won't strip any code elemnts from it since it will be contained in a safe file format.

Just in case their is issues opening this file let me explain a little bit about what I sent.  It is a piece of this .ascx file that as far as I can see deals with the databound portions of two pull down menus in which I wish the content in these pull down menus (which comes from a database) to be styled.

I noticed of the two pull down menus I am trying to work with both have two seperate id's which I saw was used for a different prupose than styling in the .vb file that was associated with the frontal ascx file.  But the id's were something like CousineDropdown list and CityDropDownList.  What I would like to see happen is figure out either what css file would be associated with a module within the desktopmodule folder or perhaps learn how I could intergrate a css file and "wire it up" to a perticular module I would like to style.  Since this module already has two id's for programatic purposes I figured if I could figure out how to wire a css file with this module I could just take those two ids and style them in the .css file and be able to effect things like font weight, color, etc... of the databound words in this drop down menu but I guess where I am stuck right now is not knowing what to do for external css file when it comes to modules where an empty or default css file hadn't been provided for the sole use of making some style modification to the module.

Thanks,

Bo

P.S. I have attached both txt and html formats just in case one of those formats becomes either corrupted or stripped of code.

This is beyond me, Bo!

But, I don't think that the problem is with module.css. There should be a module.css file for every module. They are separate and distince, and they shouldn't interfere with one another because each module will know which css file to use. At least that's how I understand things.
