You can edit your skin file to remove it. You can also remove the Register link. Removing the links from the skin file will removes those links from every page that uses the skin. If you have more than one skin file, you'll need to edit all of them.

But, you'll want to make sure that YOU can login as admin or host. This URLs should work, but you should test before editing the skin files:

http://mysite.com/login.aspx

In the skin file, you'll want to remove [USER] and [LOGIN] from the html version of the skin, or remove

< dnn:USER runat="server" id="dnnUSER" / >
< dnn:LOGIN runat="server" id="dnnLOGIN" / >

from the ascx versions.

Joe, on my end the Register button doesnt show up in 4.8.4 Login Module but then the text link is there, right above the Forgot my Password. What do I have to do to have this text link not show up? I do not want my users to Register using the existing Register link, rather using a Purchase Now button. Thanks.

I believe that if you make the site "Private" that this link will disappear.

I also tried commenting out the < dnn:USER line in all the .ascx files in my skin's folder. now after I login (using default.aspx?ctl=login) the 'logoff' link won't come up

You make the site "private" in the Site Settings page. There are several radio buttons that determine how registrations get handled at the site.

The USER control says "Login" if you aren't logged in, and changes to "Logout" if you are logged in. If you removed that, you won't see the login link. If you want to display "Logout" but not "Login," you can put some conditional code in your skin to display that only to people who are logged in. I believe that the code is posted somewhere in these forums, but you'll find lots more in the forums at Snapsis.com, which is where I learned that trick ... and several others ...
