Hi,

I upgraded my dnn recently to 4.8.4.
I added a portal alias using the dnn control panel.
After accessing the portal using this alias i find that there is no top/header menu.
Clicking the login or register link also does nothing.
All is fine if I access the portal with the old alias ('localhost')
This problem happens only on IE7 and only on certain machines

I have a few questions:
- Is there a way to change the default portal alias?
- Is the default portal alias ('localhost') hard coded somewhere which is causing this to happen?

Exactly how did you change the portal alias?

Hi,

I tried changing portal alias by adding an alias using the control panel and also by changing the first record in the portal alias table. In both cases the menu does not show up. setting it back to 'localhost' and accessing brings up the menu fine. System Configuration is Windows 2003 service pack 2 with Internet explorer version (IE 7.0.5730.11).

When you change the portalalias entry, what do you see? Do you see the page without the menu?

I've no ideas. If you want to send me the two URLs to your site, so that I can see what you are seening, send them via email to jncraig at gmail.com.
