I have looked over the article about using templates and DNN. I have developed several sites using Templates in Dreamweaver so that is the back ground for this question. Is there a process in DNN to update a site by changing one location? For instance in Dreamweaver lets say I have the physical business address for the site and it is listed in the footer area of the site. I could change it on in the template and it would go out and update everypage that was built off that template. How does this work in DNN. Do you plan this out in your Skin and change it there? I just don't see a way to change a text/html module and have it update across a site anywhere that text/html module is located. Can you even do that. Duplicate a module across several pages? Then change one location and have the changes reflect where ever that module is located? Thanks

Templates in DotNetNuke are used to build a site.

What you have described is more akin to DotNetNuke skins. You can change the entire look and feel of a DotNetNuke by changing it's skin. There is content that is injected into the skin that may be stored elsewhere, such as the copyright notice. Changing that changes it everywhere. Putting an address into the footer of a skin is quite an easy thing to do. And you don't even have to bind the actual address into the skin. Instead, you can add it as a skin object and provide the data to be displayed later.

As for other items, you can have a single instance of a Text/HTML module that appears on more than one page, or on all pages. Changing it changes every page that contains it.

I think that you'll find that the combination of skins and modules that can be displayed across multiple pages is more powerful that what you are used to using ...
