Hi,

I'm in the process to transfer a dnn site from localhost to live.
I've followed instructions from videos in "transferring localhost to live site" tutorial...

In my local SQL Server 2005 installation => SQL Server Management EXPRESS => when I have to create a new security login name => I select "SQL Server Authentication" and I write and rewrite password (imagine 10 char) + click OK with no error and new login is created ...

BUT: when I click again in the new created login to see it again it allways appears an unknown password with 15 char that I don't know when it comes from ... I've never been able to change this "default 15 char password" ...

Obviously when I update "web.config" file with new connection string I don't know what password to include ... And when I try to start up the dnn site I obtain the following error message:

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Error de inicio de sesión del usuario 'dnn_test2'. =>> is my login database user

Are you sure that the password isn't just being shown as a string of asterisks: ***********?

This is a standard security precaution.

You also have to give the new login db ownership privileges.
