Hi Lee

I was wondering if you might consider covering the Catalook store module, sometime in the future.

I understand that it is a very big module and consequently the tutorials would need to be created over a period of time in a series format.

I am currently using this module and although it does come with a 312 page manual (translated from German),  it is not very easily understood and is quite complicated, especially for the non programmer.

I have noticed in the forums that many people struggle to get their head around this module. I know it has a lot to offer and I am sure many people do not use this to the fullest capacity, because they don't quite understand how to configure it.

Susanne Koehler from Catalook (dnnsoft.com) is very efficient and very good at answering email queries but she must be inundated at times. I am sure she would welcome a set of video tutorials to accompany her software.

Thanks

Lynn

Hmm. I was trying to insert quote...
so again.

Just purchased catalook and it is pain to configure...
as said before manual translated from german is just not good enough.
and module itself is massive.

Tutorial would be nice...

http://www.catalooksupport.com/

I have put the manual online there last year - it needs updating but there is also a forum which might help a bit.

I just wanted to buy catalook... When I saw the dimension of the manual, I stopped my purchase process...
Do you know any good module which could achieve the LINKS page I have setup (currently I use the DNN repository, but there are some bugs and I would like additionnal features)

Hello Lee,

I have enjoed reading and watching your tutorials and learned everything about DNN from you. Now I am looking at CATALook and a bit scared to use it becuase of no video support
It seems like it has been two years from the original request for the tutorial on CATALook store module.
What is status on that tutorial?

Best regards,

Kyle

Time goes quickly, a year has passed since the request, it is on the list, but other tutorials have a higher priority at this moment I'm afraid. - I would suggest as a starting point you get hold of a trial copy and look at the docs and see if you get on with the module.

Thanks,

Thanks for the CATAlook overview you had just written. The paypal sandbox was useful too.
We are in the process of setting the CATALook module - it's such a complicated module... I'm yearning for some tutorials on this. The manual just scares you off.

Can't believe there are no tuturials on this module anywhere on the net at this moment in time... If someone knows, please let me know asap. Thank you!

It's all about the timing isn't it? Dam!
Hey, but the paypal sandbox was perfect timing!

I have most of the documentation online, in categories, and the dnn search works - the manual although large, is in fact very comprenehsive.

I have had my new full time support person join XD this week and we have some cool things in store, but we have spent some time tidying up the http://www.catalooksupport.com website and we will be putting these tutorials online regarding the store in the near future.

The trick to this application is to approach it one step at a time.

All the clients I have who manage their store are Non technical - some have used it without fault since 2005 and enjoy the sales and of course working with their DNN sites.

I am not sure on how the trial method works, but in the purchased version of Catalook - out of the box you get

-  a couple of site skins with the functionality of the cart embedded in the top
-  about 8 different store skin layouts
-  4 site templates that when using the site wizard will build the whole site in one go.

It's a big module but certainly not 'unmanageable'.

Catalooksupport.com is a free website supporting this commercial module because I believe there isn't enough information online.  There is also a forum you can subscribe to and ask questions which people participate in as well as the http://www.dnnsoft.com website.

Not all is lost
