I'm very new to dotnetnuke, and just starting to do the skinning tutorial that you provided. Which I must say, is very clear and helpful. I have a question though about the look of the skin. I'm sorry if this sounds very basic. I did the vortex music tutorial, and when I upload the skin on my portal, whole display became to big for the screen and i have to use the scroll bar to see the login button on the right. I followed your instructions and set the table width to 770, but it's still too big. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

And also I started doing the pure css skin and when I used the House of Nuke menu I got this error on the page.

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at TimRolands.DNN.SkinObjects.HouseMenuSkinObject.HouseMenuSkinObject.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Please advise, and thank you so much!

B

Hello,

Welcome to the site,  the width of skins tends to break if you add content into the main content pane that is too wide, for instance an example of this would be to add an image into the main content pane that is 760 pixels wide while the main content pane may only be 500 pixels wide, does this make sense?

I'm not sure what the house menu error is there. - have you installed the house menu skin object v3.1 and not the module?

It would probably be worth reinstalling the skin object and then reinstalling the skin and see if this fixes your problem.

Hope this answer is not too late, I've been snowed under creating videos this month!

Cheers,

Lee
