Help please!

I have upgraded to 4.7.0 twice and reverted to 4.6.2 once so far due to this.

The site will run for a day or so, then the logo and any media files (gif, jpegs) disppear. (all users)
On the admin site settings page I can't access the 'icon' settings - ie to set the logo folder and media file.
The same happens trying to access any media module settings.
In red I see "You do not have permissions to see the files"

I have found that by going into filemanager I can set the 'view' access for all users to ticked for the root folder and contents, but they they get reset the next day.

In the mean time I have access to the site settings page and all media modules and can reset the logo and files. (I have to do this because the files default to the first in the list). The display is fine for about a day, then the whole thing locks out again.

I have not found a way to stabilise this other than reverting to  4.6.2.  Thanks to Lee for his knowhow in backing up.

I have tried using SQL to study what is going on and took snapshots after upgrading the second time and after seeing the problem reappear. I notice a lot of renumbering of Ids going on.
Am I being a plonker in using "Select * from vw_....." to look at views? (Does this in any way change the underlying tables or views used by the application, thereby making things worse)

Any idea what is going on here, and how do I fix it?

I don't know what is happening there, it may be worth contacting the DotNetNuke.com forum to see if they can provide any help. - on DotNetNukepodcast.com (4.7.0 fresh installation) I came across a problem where all menu items were stripped out apart from the home page. - but the data still remained in the tables. - this was fixed by the application pool being recycled by the hosting provider.

It maybe worth holding back on upgrading until a (or several) point release(s)  have been made on 4.7

Thanks,

DotNetNuke 4.8 is available as of yesterday, so it looks like there won't be any point releases of 4.7.

I was (am) able to set the folder permissions from Admin - Filemanager. To do so requires all "all users" to be set to view. Recursive does not seem to set embedded folders so each has to be set.  Then I can set each of the media files (logo in admin site settings, and each media module instance) and the site will view as expected,   UNTIL THE SCHEDULED SYNCHRONISE FILES PROCEDURE RUNS AND WIPES OUT MY SETTINGS.

The attached exception report seems to explain why the file/folder access settings are being lost as the procedure is crashing out. - (Invalid path)

I would like to know what is causing the procedure to fall out and what I should do to fix it.
Any ideas?

I have 'kind of' stabilised by stopping the automatic synchronise files procedure but recognise there is something more fundamentally wrong that I do not understand.

I think that I've seen some postings about this over on the DotNetNuke Forums, but I don't recall seeing a solution. Also, there are several reported errors with 4.8 if you use LiveId for authentication.

I think that staying with 4.6.2 makes sense, if you haven't irrevocably gone past that point.

I'll keep my eyes open for a solution, or news of a fix.
