Hi,

I was just wonering if there was a way to view what a skin will look like during editing without going through the whole process of uploading & installing the skin every time you want to check an edit???

Thanks

for minor tweaks you can use foxpro, in combination with on of their add on's , that lets you change edit css on the fly.

You can also edit css using the Web Developer's Toolbar. It doesn't run in IE, but does run nicely in Firefox.

In the Issue 25 tutorials, Lee does a very nice job of showing how to test CSS using the Web Developer's Toolbar and then copying it into the skin's css file.

If you have FTP access to your site, you can simply copy a new version of the css file or the skin file to the site without reloading the skin. If you are doing a lot of work developing a skin, you might consider running a development site on your local computer and using Visual Web Developer Express for this. If you do that, you can edit the skin, css, or other files and just reload the site to view the changes. When you've got everything the way that you like it, copy the files to your live site.
