Great website,
I am attempting to set up ad sense for my website realestateweb.com...
Unfortunately, dot net nuke ads are invading my home page. When I login to edit the site, magically real estate ads appear. As soon as I log out - Bam- back to dot net nuke ads again...
Very frustrating!
When I view code, I see "content=DNN, DOTNETNUKE"
I assume this entry is the culprit however, to save my life I cannot figure out how to remove this entry. Is this strategically placed by the DNN guys and is this the reason for these ads?
How can I deliver 100% real estate ads to my viewers?

I actually have performed all of the recommended task - I updated title, description, and keyword meta tags -and removed any content related to DNN -
However, content words such as DNN, dotnetnuke - seem to be almost hardcoded somewhere in order to deliver ads for dot net nuke sites -as seen only when you view source on the live site.
If I cannot deliver relevant ads I will have to abandon DNN altogether.

Did you also take care of the localized text thing?
I'm not as familiar with AdSense in the newer versions of DotNetNuke. But, I'm sure that this can be removed.
If I understand, the correct ads appear when someone is logged in, but they don't appear if you are not logged in. Is that correct?

On my test site, and one that isn't using AdSense at the moment, the content= seems to be taken from the site settings. |

RealEstateWeb.com is back online, but I'm going to continue to experiment with the home page before continuing to develop the rest of the site.
I will be fully exploring dnncreative.com in the coming weeks for more great ideas!

I can assure you that I have removed all references to DNN - all credits in every instance where the dnn website is referenced, as well as, keyword and description entries.
If you have a moment, you can see my problem. Go to realestateweb.com - there you'll likely see DNN ADsense... then click on the "home" button and you will see real estate ADsense (which is obviously what I'm looking for).
If we can figure out this phenomenon I think it will help out a lot of other people.

Maybe working in the UK but not here in the US  -
I have tested it from other friend's computers...
It's really odd.. if you only type in the URL and nothing else, all I see there are DNN ads.
Once you click on anything within the site to make the page refresh which in turn creates a deep link -like clicking on the home button ------voilà-------- real estate ads appear.
Another scenario that I can repeat every time is, before I login to the site DNN ads display ... once I login to the site as host or admin.... real estate ads appear while logged - as soon as I log out - back to dnn ...
Perhaps if I add more real estate content to this default page my luck will change... I do however think this is a good exercise in figuring out how to best optimize DNN sites for adsense -
I hope to become an example of success as a result of using DNNcreative
If you guys ever come across more information on this please continue to share!

Well, I'm in Maryland and I'm not seeing what you are seeing. Your page comes up, I see "http://realestateweb.com/" in the address window, and I'm getting Google ads served up for Maryland locations! I'm not seeing any DNN ads, and I don't see any DNN keywords in the source.
I wonder if you're seeing a cached version of your page on your computer ... |

I really appreciate your continued responses -
Based on your last message I have discovered that "www" is the difference between what I am seeing and what you are seeing.
So http://realestateweb.com/ renders "RealEstate" Ads
And http://www.realestateweb.com/ renders "DNN" Ads (which as you know by now I really do not want)
Do you think this could be unrelated to DNN config - maybe a CNames config issue?

Still bad news ... when I go to www.reasestateweb.com (and that's what shows in the browser window), I get two nice ads and both are targeted at Maryland real estate!
I have no idea how the DNS mapping could contribute to this. When I wiew the page source for your site, I see nothing that mentions DotNetNuke or DNN ... |

It maybe worth adding some content and looking at it in a few days. - Google may have indexed the site with the keywords DNN before you took DNN out of the source code and at your end of the world those Google servers are delivering some DNN related ads. (a guess)
I'm sure that once the site has been up for a while with some content DNN ads will completely disappear.
I'm getting realestate ads in the UK for both versions of the URL.

I think your assessment was right on the money, as in adsense money.
My need for instant gratification got the best of me... thanks again for taking the time to reply.
Your website - it's really been the extra resource I've needed to understand and implement DNN so far. Please continue to show us how DNN magic tricks work.

One thing I noticed on that site is there is very little real content that a googlebot can use. In these cases it may take google bot a while to figure out what content your site has based on all theother pages. I have found it helpful to add some introductory text (especially on the home page).
Take a look at my site: www.warbeats.com and notice how I have a paragraph or two of "welcome..." text. I have found this alone has made my ads more relevant and thus boosted my revenue.
The great thing about this, is that you can use words in yoru text to really hone the type of ads that wil display. For example if you wanted to target "vacation homes' as opposed to "single family residences" or whatever, just mention that in your intro text.

NFX - thanks so much for the tip! I will be working on content over the coming weeks - it's taken me a while to get the design the way I like it - I just finished yet another design change today - along with e-golf.com and realestateweb.com but so far I have found your words of wisdom to be accurate...
Your site looks really good! Please let me know of future revelations!
