Hello

I am building a sportwebsite, shaped like a "sports magazine", but I have some questions about DB building. Is it absolutely necessary to build a DB from scratch? How much DB-work is necessary for me to build? Can I build a website based on DNN technics without building a traditional DB with tables and stuff?

how much does DNN support regarding DB?

do I make sense?

Regards
Alex

Alex,

DotNetNuke absolutely requires a database. That's they way that it works.

But, the good news is that YOU don't have to build the database. As part of the installation, you'll need to create an empty database and then use DotNetNuke's Wizard to connect to it. DotNetNuke and modules build out the database.

In fact, I believe that one can build a perfectly nice website without knowing a thing about databases or HTML. Of course, the more you know, the more you can do. But you don't have to!
