Hello

After  viewing the 4.th video about "how to transfer from localhost to live site" I was asked to send a ticket to the host provider asking them to set the permissions to the files within the DNN installations using the DNN, I was asked to inform the host provider that I had restored the DB for my site and to doublecheck the permissions in the DB.

I sent a ticket to my host provider with these questions and got the following confusing answer from them:

"Hi,

To better troubleshot the issue you are experiencing it is necessary for us to replicate the exact problem please provide us with a full URL to related error pages include any additional information necessary to replicate the error
"

I am a bit confused what do they mean/want from me?
and what is the exact purpose with the ticket I was asked to sent to the host provider?

Best regards

hello,

In order for DNN to operate correctly it needs full read and write permissions for the NetworkService to be applied to all of the DotNetNuke files and folders.

After you have uploaded new files and folders to your DotNetNuke installation, it is likely that the NetworkService will not have the full read and write permissions, so we send an e-mail to our hosting provider to ask them to re-enable the permissions.

I would send back:

I am in the process of upgrading my DotNetNuke website, I have just uploaded new DotNetNuke installation files and I need you to re-enable full read and write permissions for the NetworkService on my DotNetNuke files and folders.

hope this helps,

Thank you Lee!

I sent your reply suggestion and I hope they will understand better what I wanted from them. This is all very new to me (DNN) and your video tutorials are worth gold!

This is my first website I build from scratch and it is a very interesting journey.

thanks again

Alex

one question...

After getting the permissions...
Shouldn´t I be able to do all my development at the host provider by logging in on their website?

greetings
