When our members log in, they are returned to the page they started from. Is there any way to send them to the member's page? The problem is that a member tab is added to the top nav after they log in, but everything else looks the same so the members don't know they are logged in.

You can define a page to which users will be redirected after they login. Look at the User Settings page that is accessible from the Users page.
