Hello Everyone,
I had a quick question. I have about 7 different websites that I want to use DNN to manage. Would it be better to have one install of DNN and set up each domain/website as its own parent portal or to have a separate install of DNN for each domain/website I have?
I was hoping to find some documentation on the benefits of each way and pros/cons but I have not been able to find anything. Does anyone have any information on which path is better to take and why? Or could at least point me in the right direction? Thank you very much!

The correct answer to your question really is ... it depends!

I would probably opt to use a separate install for each site.  It has the following benefits:
  • The sites really are separate - users, content, etc.
  • A problem with one site shouldn't bring down the other sites.
  • If you ever need to move one site to somewhere else, it will be easy.

I agree with Joe for separate sites, for further info I created a pdf of the choices with pros / cons
