hello is it possiable that i can limt the acces for annoucement module. basicly what i m trying to do that few user shud be able to put annoucemnt. they shud not be able to change the basic setting. can i do in dnn annoucemnet module or if not then plz tell me if there is any module which i can buy for this.

Hello,

Yes this is possible, you will need to:

Create a new security role - eg. 'announcement access'
for each user that you wish to give access to the announcements module, apply the new security role to their user account
on the announcements module, go to the module settings, for the 'announcement access' security role tick edit permissions.

This will give those users access to add new announcements, but they will not be able to get to the admin functions of the module.

I mentioned the ventrian subscription to you in a previous post for the subscription tools module, if you get a subscription from ventrian, then it is worth looking at their News Articles module as it provides a lot more functionality than the announcements module.

thanks for help i really say this from core of my heart.basilcy i m making web site and it is a big very big

i m new and this is my first site so i m facing these problem.oh one question jus came in my mind. is there anyway i can use nested security role in dnn ?bcoz i didnt find any thing even if u configer active directory.help again plz

reason i m asking nested security role bcoz there gona be 1000s of security role

You can set up DotNetNuke role groups which may help you out, for further information have a look at this tutorial:
