Hi Lee

Re issue 11 tutorial: Scalable Inman Flalsh Replacement.

In video 5 you demonstrate how to insert the required Javascript into the Default.aspx file.

However in the Default.aspx file for DNN 4.3.5 the Javascript link code does not seem to be available. I am therefore presuming that DNN are linking to the core javascript folder via another file.

Any suggestions.

Lynn

Hi eureka

I am also trying to setup sIFR with dotnetnuke, in video 5 it explains on adding
javaScript code to make it work

However if you are working with dotnetnuke 4.3.x you should look at the bottom

and follow the instruction, it did not work for me but if any luck please write back

Hello,

Did either of you have any luck with sIFR in 4.3?

Thanks,

I don't know what this could be, it works on my localhost installation without problems. Do you have a URL or are you testing on localhost?

I wonder is anyone having any luck with sIFR in dnn 4.3.5+ ?

And if the answer is positive, then how is this affecting other portals within same DNN installation which have no need to implement sIFR ?

Hello John

I have not installed sIFR yet, but I have found a solution to add Javascript to the head, which works:

http://blogs.snapsis.com/PermaLink,guid,eef98c82-f54d-480b-8e36-309ca6e406d8.aspx

Hope this is of use.

Thanks Lynn,

it will help in .ascx skins, but what about .html skins ? Do you have solution for that too? ... or I have to upload skin, parse it and then take it's .ascx and "hack" it with this solution ?
I'll try that.
Thanks

Hi John

I have not tried with html skins but I don't see why it would not work with them also, it is worth a try. If not then you will need to edit the ascx skin. Or create an ascx skins instead.

If you use Dreamweaver you can create both ascx + html skins. You will find a useful DNN tool to help create skins via Dreamweaver on this site:www.thinkofdesign.com

Hello all,

I have just tried sIFR with DNN 4.4 and it works ok if you follow the addendum points at the bottom of this page:
http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorials/SkinningTutorials/sIFR2andDotNetNukeSkins/tabid/269/Default.aspx

- If you are using 4.4 you will want to assign the DOC Type using the method outlined here:
forum discussion

Cathal blog post
and response to questions

A workaround to selecting DOCTYPEs using code

Rather than changing the default.aspx file.

One thing I have just discovered however is that there seems to be a bug in 4.4 when using the drop down list in the containers. - So for the time being instead of using
[DROPDOWNACTIONS] in your containers use [SOLPARTACTIONS]

Thanks,

John,

I forgot to say, if a portal uses a skin that doesn't implement sIFR it will not affect it.

Thanks,
