Hi,
My Name is Haitham Nasr, I am from Beirut-Lebanon, I need your advice for the best hosting solution for a new website I am planning to do in the next 7 to 15 days, with DotNetNuke, and this website will include the following:

Big database, the first 6 months can be more than 100M.
Commercial index, the estimated clients 3000, on the first 6 months.
Files will be uploaded from the users on daily basis, word files and small photos.
Too many users (more than 1000) will be online at the same time.
English and Arabic Language will be used on website and the database.

I already downloaded and installed the source package of DotNetNuke on my computer, and make too many changes on it, skins, database tables, and other changes on some modules.
As I mentioned before, it is a new website, we are planning for a good advertising plan for it, and we are expecting 5000 clients throughout the first year.

So advice me for:

The best hosting solution I need.
Is DotNetNuke, a good solution for that website?
Can I upload DotNetNuke that I did in my localhost computer?
Your notes on any other things.
Is it better to make my individual database, other than the DotNetNuke database?

Please take this seriously, as I need to make this site online on the next 7 to 15 days. Moreover, I do not mind if I need to do my work online from the beginning, if this will be better for the website.

Note: I am new on working with DotNetNuke, but I have a good knowledge on working in visual basic 2005, and SQL 2005 server.

Haitham Nasr

Hello,

Welcome to the website.

DotNetNuke is a good solution and will be able to handle it easily.
The performance of the DNN install is due to the performance of the server with your hosting provider.

I would have a read of the comments of the various hosting providers in this section of the forum as it should give you a good idea of how other users rate various hosting providers. If you want to compare performance, DNN Creative uses Power DNN
the performance is very good with good support, you can read comments from other powerdnn customers in this forum

Yes you can upload your localhost DNN install to your hosting provider, have a look here:

Hopefully that should get you started along the right path, good luck with your project and if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask as many questions as you need in the DNN Creative forum.

Cheers,

Lee
