Hello All,

I am very new to DNN - my portal is Version: 04.08.04 - .NET framework 2.0.50727.

I have created my first portal. It is all set to go live, but i have one obvious bug which is pissing me off!

The title of the Registration Page Module repeats twice. See screen dump below.

I have edited the txt files in the App_Local Resources folder and have also made changes in the ADMIN - Languages Section : \App_GlobalResources\SharedResources.resx - Resource Name: Register.Text

I have successfully changed the text, but I cant stop it repeating twice. I would like to delete the second line of text. When i try to do this in the Resource Name: Register.Text section it deletes both lines.

Please tell me which resource or file i need to alter to sort this out. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you - Tripytaka.

That's interesting, I have never seen that before!

But, after adding the user accounts module to the page in 4.8.4 I can see the same problem. - I have looked at various language resource files and that duplication is not within those files, it appears as though the duplication is caused within the DotNetNuke core code.

The method I have found to remove the duplication without editing the core code is to go to the module settings / page settings/basic settings/Untick display container - or if you wish to display the container, you could create a special container just for this module and remove the [TITLE] token.

hope this helps, thanks,

Leesykes,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have un-ticked the display container setting and it goes away as you said. I think creating a custom container is beyond my scope of ability. I suspect editing the core code would be more complicated that i could handle yet also. I will just leave it as it is until an upgrade comes along and hopefully fixes it.

Thank again.

Tripytaka.

Creating a custom container isn't necessary!

Lee has been including a "transparent, no title" skin with most of his recent skin packages.  You can download the Lazy Days Free Skin from here.  You can either install this skin, or extract just the container package that you are interested in and install it.

Yes, most of the work has been already done for you in the free skins that are available on DNN creative, all you will need to do is remove the [TITLE] token from the container.

If you are new to DotNetNuke skinning I would recommend you look at Issue no 5 and 6 where it introduces you to skinning right from the very beginning - you will not need much knowledge for just editing the title token.

thanks,

Hi All,

I posted the same query on the DNN forum and recieved this reply.
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/postid/250814/scope/posts/Default.aspx

This is a bit of a goofy one to figure out, but once I did I made it permanent:

               In file admin/Users/manageusers.ascx

Look for this line and add the red bit:

               asp:label id="lblTitle" cssclass="Head" runat="server" visible="false">

Make sure you repeat this fix after portal upgrades and also make sure you always use a container for the module if you want the title to appear.

I followed these instructions and it fixed the problem.

Regards - Tripytaka
