Hello,

I am trying to create a page that simulates a frame like structure.  What I am tyring to do is feature snapshots of live videos that are clickable in the left pane.  Than when the user clicks the image it would be linked to the live stream url which would than play in a specific module in the contentpane area.

So I guess what I am looking for is a way to be able to target a specific module on a page with the content from a link that is looked from a different module weather that link is in the form of text or encapsulated within an image tag it would be sort of like simulating a frame type of feel that static web sites often used to target a specific area on the apge from a different area of the page.

So in this case I am trying to target a module in a specific pane of the page from a link in a module located in a different pane of the page (i.e. by clicking on a picture in the left pane in a text/html module would display the results of that link in a different module in the contentpane) it would sort of be simulating the target attribute that one might expect to find in a iframe or traditional framed page.

I hope I communicated my desires correctly but I guess I just needed to know if this type of solution was possible via dotnetnuke.  I looked into Iframe module but all that would do is simply allow you to frame another whole website within the iframe module with scroll or no scroll features which is part of the solution for sure that could be the module used for example for the video snapshot navigation but does not finish the solution by allowing one to click on a given snapshot in the iframe and have that link (which would be a livestream) start playing in a module in say the content pane and than when you clicked on a different snapshot than that different link would display in that same area the first one did and so on making multiple snapshot pictures linked to one main module in the content pane for a robust solution.

Thanks by the way for spending the time to reply to these posts no matter what they may say

Bo,

Rather than writing your own code, have you looked at any of the "gallery" or "media player" modules that are available? They might be a better way to go.

While there are tools available for communications between modules, the modules have to be written in that way. I'm doubtful that you'll be able to do what you want to do with existing modules, unless they have been written to do what you need them to do.
