Reseller Choice: Windows Reseller Hosting Services

http://www.resellerchoice.com/

Giving you full control to resell windows hosting packages.
Reseller Choice offer full support for DotNetNuke.

You access your account using Hosting Controller V6.0 - This is slightly more complicated than using the Helm control panel as you also get further options for managing your reseller clients, but it's relatively simple to setup an SQL-Database etc.

Support is through a ticket system and a private forum.

Reseller Choice have included a brief tutorial covering the preparations you need to make to your account before attempting to install DotNetNuke, which is very useful.

You can access your SQL-Databases using Enterprise Manager

I can recommend Reseller Choice, there have been a couple of moments when i have noticed the server has gone down, or the email server has gone down, but this was for a short period of time several months ago.

Recently though, those problems have been ironed out and the service has been working well.

Support is very good, using both the ticket system and the private forum. I have made many support requests and all of them have been answered quickly and helpfully.

They have a knowledge of DotNetNuke, which is also a benefit when you are trying to iron out any installation problems you may come across.

Highly recommended

I signed up a couple hours ago (Sunday afternoon) and the final panel said it could take 24 hour4s to process the credit card and setup email would be sent after that.

I followed up with a message to their Live Chat (they are Offline). No response yet. Probably just take weekends off. Guess I can't blame them. Should be auto-service though.

I moved on a few months ago, but until then I found them a very good service. I am including hosting services in my offering and there was a couple things they couldn't do for me.

If you are just hosting sites and you don't want to hide the fact you are a reseller, and you want someone that really knows DNN, then Reseller Choice is good.

I am currently using 3 Essentials (www.3essentials.com ) partly because they have a decent Reseller program and partly because they have good server systems. They aren't that proficient with DNN, but I don't need them for that.

I can still recommend them, support and price are good. Up-time has improved over the past few months.

I will however soon be moving some of my sites to PowerDNN for better up-time and faster servers, but i will also continue to use Reseller Choice as they provide a good service.

An update: ResellerChoice pointed out that I was running on their old SQL server and to change my databases to their new server which should speed up the site. (All of their clients have being asked to move from this old SQL server to the new SQL servers to improve the performance of their sites).

Bonus: If you enter this coupon code: LS20
when signing up to ResellerChoice you will get 20Gigs of bandwidth for free!

I just spend the last 5 days trying Reseller Choice:

Submit a online request on Sat - it was not responded to until Monday.

Sign Up Monday AM get mail allowing me to sign in Very late Monday

Spend all of Tueday trying to set up their Hosting Control Panel to allow me to install DNN while following their step by step instructions. It is a trial and error process and very panfull

Their Hosting Control Panel keeps on timeing out and half way completing operations. They appear to have no way to cleanup these partial setups.

The only support is by trouble ticket and not very usefull when they fullunderstand that jargan of their Hosting Control Panel and thier reselling model. When all you want to do is set up a single DNN site this is way too much over kill.

After several support ticked and more error messages I gave up on them and request my $19.95 back.

I'll keep on looking for a new ISP

I would like to make an update to this post,

At the time of your signup ResellerChoice was growing at a very fast rate, and because of the control panel problems and shortcomings support was flooded and tied up fixing control panel issues instead of being able to provide fast and quality support.

We have now built up our support team and changed control panels. The new control panel is much more streamlined and easy to use and navigate. It also has an application manager which includes an install for the latest versions of DotNetNuke (both 4.x and 3.x) and if you prefer to do a self install you no longer need to wait for support to set the required DNN permissions as everything is now done via the control panel. The panel is also built on asp.net 2.0 technology so the timeout problems and ghost resources are a thing of the past.

These are some more of the changes made to improve our services and support.

New class of Web Servers:
+ We are now running Dual Quad Core Xeon servers and Raid 10 disk configurations for IIS servers, This disk and CPU setup was recommended by Microsoft and allows applications like DNN to run most efficient. We also now run top of the line SuperMicro servers.
+ All our servers are now attached to a powerful backend network which allows us to do several things: use active directory which is integrated in our control panel and allows us to grow the cluster as needed and at a moment’s notice, improve performance on intra server transactions (such as SQL traffic) and much more.

New Web Site
+ We have updated our website with a new look and new plans for all different types of business and hosting needs.
+ DNN plans are still starting at $19.95 but now come with more disk space and bandwidth then before and allow you to still run 5 DNN portals and an unlimited number of sub portals.

New support Area
+ We now have a new support and client area with FAQ’s, knowledgebase and billing in one central location.
+ New live support program, allows our customer service reps to be available almost all the time now.
+ Procedures and software is now in place to never leave a ticket unanswered or updated, in the past with our old ticketing system, sometimes tickets would get lost in the mix and could not be transferred, this was due to the control panel.

I’m sorry if the service did not meet your expectations in the past but we have made every possible change to make our service as easy to use and reliable for a great value. We also still offer - as you experienced – a no questions asked 30 day money back guarantee on all our reseller hosting packages.

I signed up with Resellers Choice about 1 month ago. So far, I have been very happy with the service and the hosting. The support ticket process works well and responses are timely. I also noticed the speed is much better then WS4L.

Tex, can you give us your URL, so we can compare. I am very satisfied with WH4L, my speed is fast.

I have about 7 or 8 dnn sites running on Resellers Choice now. 3 of these were running on WH4L.

Try www.bpoforce.com so you can compare.  WS4L is ok if you are running on a dedicated server or virtual.  The normal hosting is not so good.  Maybe you got lucky and got on a new server which is not yet full.

Sorry it took a while to see your post.

Seems that you are right... I was very satisfied, but now, I have too many downtime...
One hour each day, I can not continue this way. Hopefully, they are very reactive, and changed me from server, application pool, etc... But it is ok for 7 days, not more...
I have now 7 requests... I send a last one this morning, if it is not better, I will have to change, unfortunately... Which one to choose, this is always the same problem...
:-(
It's my second one....

Thanks Tex,

Great to hear your feedback on our newest network, it was designed with DNN hosting and performance in mind.

Sorry to hear about your trouble, if you want to try something new you could setup your dnn on our servers using our temp urls and test it out without having to switch your DNS over, once everything is ok and you are happy with speed/reliability just switch over the dns. We offer a 30 day refund so if you change your mind or dont like the service for any reason you can get a full refund.

Otherwise best of luck with your search for a DNN hosting provider.

DNN Creative is running on Reseller Choice in shared hosting

SkinningToolkit.com is running on PowerDNN

I keep my sites spread over several hosting providers incase anything goes wrong. I am happy with both providers, thanks,

RC-Rob,

I just sent an email to CONTACT, I have few questions before an eventual migration...
Depending of the answer, I may envisage it, if it is WITHOUT downtime...

Please, Why RessellerChoice never answer the questions via Email? What about the resellers that need a fast support?. Dificult to decide!.

Ok Rob.  The tickets support functions very well. And the live chat OK too. Maybe I try with a wrong tool. The email.

Thank for all. Once I prooved the support I decided resellerchoice.

I just purchased a 25 domain plan with Re-Sellers choice and I am very impressed  with how fast and easy the interface is to use. The Portal itself is fast and it is extremely easy to set up Dot Net Nukes sites. Literally one click and the database and site are set up for you, all you need to do is name the database and give login credentials for admin and host. I couldn't believe how quick it set up DNN for me. It only took less than a minute and I was logging into my site and uploading my skins.
I recently purchased a 25 site plane from iHost, and found Resellers Choice shortly after. Both are good, but I was still looking for an interface that was easier to use than HELM (which iHost uses). The dotPanel interface in Resellers choice in modern, sleek , fast and easy to use. It looks like they have taken their time and spent some money to create a polished portal for resellers like me to use.
It very easy to set up a new database, or back up an existing one, to add new domains, set up email account for clients, set up individual FTP accounts etc.
I'm really happy I found them, I unfortunately will be moving my sites over from iHost, who is still good, but for the extra $5 a month, the interface at reseller is worth it. I currently administer 30 websites and have a new one added once to twice a month. For a designer like me who sells hosting to his clients only, this is the best package I have seen yet, and I have tried a number.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions. I personally find forums like these great places to find out information, and I would be happy to help anyone else who is looking for a host.
