Can a DNN page read a query string (or POST data) passed to it with its URL?

I am using DNN for an e-commerce site that includes product demos. The demos are Flash files, which I plan to play in a Text/HTML module. Here is the twist: I would like to use one DNN page for all the product demos, and pass to that page the URL of the Flash file containing the demo that needs to be played. I am using XMod for my product list and product deatil pages, which makes passing the URL as a query string or as POST data pretty easy.

Here is my problem: How does the demo page (or more to the point, the Text/HTML module on the demo page) read the query string (or POST data)?  Can this even be done?

Is there a better way yo pass the URL of a Flash file to be played to another DNN page? Or, am I stuck with a separate DNN Page for each demo file?

Thanks!

Hello,

I don't know how the Text / HTML module could pick up the query string. If I was approaching it I would create a separate module to handle the pickup of the query string and display of your flash files.

I'm not familiar enough with XMod, but couldn't you use a second instance of XMod to pick up the URL and then display a flash file within XMod?

Thanks, Lee. I did some research on Snowcovered, and I found a module that will do the trick: The Inventua FlashPlayer Module. Its' product sheet says that it can receive query strings to determine which Flash file to play. Her's a link:

http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=1715&search=flash+AND+animation+AND+(Tags:"Module")&pagenumber=0&sortby=&tagid=
