Hi,

Downloaded the Zenlike skin and I'm struggling trying to get the submenus to line up. I just can't figure it out

What menu are you using? - The HouseMenu in the skin is not configured for submenus and doesn't display them. Can you attach the code or give us a URL

Hi Lee,

I'm in quicksand here, don't know what I'm doing anymore.

I've been trying to get the Housemenu to display submenus without success so I changed to the dnnNAV which is causing me other problems (see image)and I can't find any information how to create a horizontal submenu displaying when mousing over the main menu.

I'm confused because I can't find any skinning documentation how to configure the DNN NAV menu and also because the Housemenu doesn't display submenus. I've been through the Housemenu docs 100 times but I can't understand why the submenus just refuse to display.

    [div id="menu"][dnn:HOUSEMENU runat="server" id="dnnHOUSEMENU" Scope="-1" ShowAdmin="True" IsRecursive="False" Orientation="H" Mode="D" CssElementId="HouseMenuNav" /][/div]

Thanks for your help

Leif

PS In fact any menu will do as long as it displays properly

ok, personally for that type of menu I would use snapsis CSS menu, it can handle the hover over menus that you require and it comes with docs and examples of building that type of menu.

HouseMenu is great as it is free, but I do not configure it to display submenus, I always build multiple HouseMenus, so I have the main along the top and then a separate HouseMenu to display the sub in a list on the left, you will see this in action a lot on the pages on DNN Creative.

To be honest as of yet I have not used the Nav menu that much from when it changed from the SolPart menu, so can't really provide any tips at this stage on setting it up. However, as the skin you are using is already a CSS skin, I would use a CSS menu to get the best advantage of performance and search engines, which leads to the snapsis menu, if you go to the subscribers section of this forum, you will see a discount token is available for subscribers.

Thanks,

Lee

Thanks for your reply and tips Lee,

I'll head for Snapsis then.

Cheers

Leif
