Hi there everyone,

I have been playing with a new site on my localhost, and am nearing the point were I will be making it live.  However, I have a strange issue that I can't seem to figure out.

Every time I add a new page to my site, multiple modules automatically populate on the page.  To be more clear, let me explain.  Every page has 5 sections named below with the following layout

Logo               FlashTopRight

<---------Banner--------------->

SideBarPane     ContentPane

I added a media module in Logo and Banner, and inserted images in each.  I inserted the DigFlash module to display a flash file in Flashtopright.  In the ContentPane and SideBarPane, there have been all kinds of different modules I have played with from page to page.

Now, when I create a new page, I would not expect any modules to appear be default.  However, each time a new page is created, I get 3 Image modules in the Logo section, all on top of each other with the same image inserted.  I get 4 DigFlash Modules in the FlashTopRight section, all with the same flash...

...Here's what is even more strange.  There is nothing in the Banner section.  But in the media module with the banner image shows up in the content pane instead.

Again, I would expect NO Modules to show up.  I can't figure out why these modules are defaulting in all over the place.  I am not using templates (although I have played with templates a little, this was happening before I ever tried to use them) and I am not changing the skin from page to page.  Actually I am letting the site settings under the admin of the portal govern what skin is being used.

I have tried reinstalling the skin, but it does not help.  Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can get this cleaned up so it doesn't happen going forward?

Thank you very much in advance!

When you create a new page, you have the option to use a page template and also to copy from another page. I'm guessing that you've selected one or both of those options.

Here is what I selected:

Parent Page;
Templates:
Page Template: Blank

Copy From Page:

Page Skin (Site):
Page Container (Site):

And I doesn't look like the rest of the settings are relevant to this issue.

When I go ahead and create the page, all the items default in like I mentioned above.  It is so weird.  Unless you have another idea, I think I am going to rename my skin, upload it, and reset the portal skin to it to see if that takes care of it.  I will let you know.

(but it is still killing me to figure out where DNN is getting this!  )

Are the modules that you see ones that you have specified to "display on all pages"?  If you have such modules, they will appear, even though you've used a template that has no modules.

Thank you Joe.

I was playing with those settings when I first started playing with DNN and forgot all about it.  This was exactly the issue.

Thanks again.
