I have a dnn site that seemed to be set up just fine. I needed to add a child portal to this site. I used an exported template that was copied from my localhost envirnment to the live folders. The installation was good except I had to install my skins. The problem I am having is in saving module settings. I can edit a module's settings, but when I update the changes don't submit. This occurs in both portals (parent and child) I have tried this on 3 different types of modules, text/html, links, and e-commerce. The log doesn't say anything about the modules I am working on, but it does referrence a deleted media module. I will post the log info below... any help is appreciated.

Not sure, I haven't come across this problem before, if the problem is occurring on the parent portal, it suggests that the problem is not related to the child portal.

Could you try logging in as a different user - admin / host - do the problems still occur?

Could you update before you added the child portal?

I did login as a different user, and the problem continues. I did not have this problem with the parent portal prior to the child's creation, I could update just fine. There has been a slight improvement. If I try to update several times, it finally submits. But there is also a problem logging off as host or admin. I have to click on my host or admin name then it will log off, otherwise it is a hit or miss thing. Could there be something going on with ajax? I am not very experienced with trouble shooting these kind of issues. Also, would it benefit to upgrade from 4.8.3 to 4.8.4?

if you want to test Ajax, go to the host menu, host settings, advanced settings, other settings, Untick enable Ajax.

I don't think upgrading will help, but you could try it, as it may possibly fix something that has become corrupted.

I have upgraded the site and I still need to make several attempts to update or insert. It was suggested that I may have a hosting environment issue, but I don't quite know how to approach the trouble shooting in order to find that out. The Ajax doesn't seem to be the problem.

Do you have any suggestions at all?

It could be worth contacting your hosting provider direct, I would ask them to check that the permissions are correctly set up for the folders and files on your DotNetNuke installation and see if they have any other suggestions on why you are getting these errors as they will be able to view your installation directly.

Thanks,
