I'm editing this to add that I checked out the video on styling the Search Skin.  I went into my Skin folder for my portal, edited the skin.xml file and ADDED the two options to set to false the ShowSite and ShowWeb name and value pair.

Nothing changed.

Hi All,

I am attempting to upgrade a copy of my live site to a first step of 4.6.2.

I was able to upgrade and all went well.  Here's my only problem:

The "Search Bar" feature.  It now has two radio buttons to search the web or search site (defaulted selected).  The problem is that it's messing up my skin.  Before, all I had was a nice little Search box and a search button and it searched my site.  How do I get this back?  Must I modify the .ascx files?  Is there a setting to only search my site that will magically make those radio buttons go away?

Please let a brother know.

Thanks, as always,

Mark

You can go into the skin file itself and turn off those two options. In your skin:

< dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" showWeb="False" showSite="False" / >

will turn off both buttons.

Thanks Joe.  That did the trick.  A shame I have to update all the various skin .ascx files, but, hey, a  solution's better than no solution.

I do appreciate it!
