Great video regarding using SQL Data Compare from Redgate. That and SQL Compare have significantly increase my productivity in terms of deploying changes to my production system.

However, I am having an issue pushing html/text changes from local to prod. Basically they don't show up straight away. If I edit something on the page. They show up. And if I leave it and come back the next day they show up, so I'm assuming it's something to do with caching.

I've tried various bits and bobs of changing caching options, but haven't found anything that works.

Any insight you could give me about how to sort this would be much appreciated.

Background: Prod installation is 04.08.02 on shared hosting at PowerDNN.
The issue can be simulated by making any direct database change to the html/text body of a module.

If, after making changes, you go to Host Settings, open Performance Settlings and click the Clear Cache link, you should see the changes immediately. If so, that does narrow things down to the cache. And, the cache is the only thing that could cause this.

Does this happen for every module, or just some?

If the answer is some, look at the module settings and see what the value is for the cache setting. If the answer is every module, I'm not sure where to point you. But, you can try to disable caching (use no caching) and see if the problem goes away.
