Howdy,

I'm having a problem with my websites ability to download zip files. I have tested this as well as a user and when I download a zip file through DotNetNuke (UserDefinedTable) it corrupts the zip file. I've downloaded it directly by browsing to the URL without any issues. I'm currently testing the Documents Module but was wondering if anyone else has this problem? The files are rather large, between 50 and 150 MBs. Any ideas?

Thanks
Owen

You need to go into web.config and fix the setting for the maximum file size. It's default value is around 8 megs, so if you have larger files, you'll have to increase it. You may also need to increase some timeouts to make sure that the files get delivered without page timout errors.

Thanks Joe,

I wondered if it was something like that but wasn't sure where to look. I'll go ahead and tweak it and give it a try. Funny enough, instead of using the "download" part of the UDT, if you use the URL and select file that way it doesn't give you any problems. Go figure.

Hi,

If you still can't solve the problem, you can try some professional services to repair the corrupt zip file. I think you can try an utility called Advanced Zip Repair to repair your Zip file. It works rather well for my corrupt Zip files.  If you don't need such tool, please just ignore this.
