I am trying to transfer my dotnetnuke files from localhost to my live account. I have followed the steps from the discountasp.net kb article Q10382 and the dnncreative videos. I am getting the following error when I try to connect to the page.

Compiler Error Message: BC30451: Name 'Config' is not declared.

Line 65:         ''' -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Line 66:         Private Sub Application_Start(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
Line 67:             If Config.GetSetting("ServerName") = "" Then
Line 68:                 ServerName = Server.MachineName
Line 69:             Else

Does anyone have any help for this? Thanks.

Chances are your new installation isn't connecting to the database server. Check BOTH connection strings in web.config.

It seems to have been that the web.config file didn't reference the system.configuration namespace. I had to manually add it.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Where/how did you add this?

I've never seen that sort of thing in a DotNetNuke web.config file.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I was in error. I did add the namespace reference to the web.config file, and I mistakenly thought it worked because I was next presented with a 'generic dotnetnuke error page'. I assumed that the compiler moved past the app_start sub, therefore was working at that step. Needless to say, I am new at this, and my programming needs lots more training. I actually discovered that quite a few files didn't ftp to my site, and I had to upload them one at a time. My site is up. ( www.heartoftexastennis.com ). I am still seeking some solutions to some issues, like the date and time diplaying different than the utc central time zone that I am in, but you were right that I wasn't connecting to the database server due to missing files.
I have spent the past couple of days on the United States Memorial Day Holiday causing the delay in my reply. I appreciate your help.

You shouldn't need to do ANY programming to run  a DotNetNuke site, unless you are creating special purpose modules for very special needs.  There are many, many modules available, so I suggest that you always look to them first.

As for time zone, there are several places where time zone information is set.  The site can have a time zone, and each user also has a time zone.  The idea is that logged in users should see dates and time appropriate for their locales.  The site time is set in Site Settings.  The user's time is set in the User Profile.

I hope that you had a nice Memorial Day weekend.  Here in Maryland, the weather was almost perfet.
