Hi,
I have a site which allows registered users (which is a sales force) to submit their figures using a udt table for each monh of figures.. I would like to be able to do some interesting things with the figures submitted such as some graphs etc and in particular would like a "top 5" table to appear based on the best performers for a particular month.
Has anyone got some tips on how to manipulate the data in this sort of way, or even some suggestions of some interesting things that I could do with the figures and how I might go about it?

Thanks so much
                           Sam.

If all of the data are in a single table, you might be able to use the Reports module to do this. Graphing is not included in any module with which I am familiar, though.

I'd think that many of the concepts used in the UDT module would be applicable to the Reports module.

Both of these modules are conceptually fairly simple. But because the permit you to executle SQL and then do transformations on the resulting data, you can easily cause them to do rather complicated things.

I note that you can have a grid visualizer, an HTML template visualizer, or an XSL Transformation visualizer. So, you could go quite wild with this. And, since the Reports module executes an SQL query, it could combine data from multiple tables if you construct things "correctly."

I'd LOVE to see some examples of use of Reports and/or UDT to do some really complicated things ... just to demonstrate the possibilities ...

I'd also check the documentation at the DotNetNuke.com site.

Well, I highly recommend that you take a look at the DotNetNuke.com forum for the Reports module. I just spent a few minutes poking around and I think that I could get lost there easily for a few weeks! Lots of good stuff, discussions of custom or add-on visualizers, etc.
