I've got a 4.8.0 installation that doesn't have the "Create Module Package" link or option on the Edit Module Definition page.

Does anyone know how that happened, and how to get it back?

On the create module page you have 'Folder Name' when adding a name don't put any spaces between the words i.e. My Module should be MyModule or My_Module

That's not it. My module has a single word name.

Digging around on a 4.7.0 site, I see that the standard Banners module doesn't have the entry, but Announcements does. Is there a way, somewhere inside of a module, to prevent the Create option from being visible?

I have a similar case today, then I found that if the module folder doesn't exist in desktopmodules  (which is folder name when you define a new module,..), that prevent that link to appear, fixed that and the link shows

I had found how to create module package when u create your module and which u name given to your module excetly that name you have to give in folder name textbox when u install your module into your dotnetnuke portal so when again u go through this module by module definitions u will see that your module name into your install module select your module u will definetly see the create module package.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the same problem in a DNN4.9.5 site. I don't think it is to do with folder names, as mine are all correct.

Remembering dimly ... at one point DotNetNuke was modified so that the Create Package link only appeared when you were running in a localhost environment.  I think, but am not sure, that this was changed back before 4.9.5.
