Is there a way to have the Register/Account button read "Register/My Account" instead of "Register/Displayname"?

Yes, you can change the text using the Language Editor.

I know you can change the "Register" text but I don't see where you can have it say "My Account" instead of "DisplayName" once the user is logged in. Am I missing something?

Oh, I misunderstood the question.

I think that the simple question is that you cannot do that with the USER skin object.

On the other hand, it wouldn't take much work to create a skin object that does what you'd like for it to do.  There is a line in the user.ascx.vb file that reads:

                      cmdRegister.Text = objUserInfo.DisplayName

Change it to:

                      cmdRegister.Text = "My Account"

and you'll have what you want.

I would copy the existing USER skin object, and create a new one called USER1.  That way, you can always to back to the original.  Additionally, upgrading won't overwrite your version.

If you decide to create a special skin object, look here for information about packaging it for installation.

Open Languages, Language Editor.

Expand Local Resources, Admin, Skins, App_Local_Resources and look for the User control or the Login control, or whichever control for which you want to alter text.
