    Hi All

I have created a driveway and pation design and construction website for a relative and I would be interested in your comments, on how I might improve it.

I am expecting that some visitors to the site might not be too familiar with websites and navigation. Therefore I have tried to make it user friendly by adding some extra navigation, via image links to the main pages. However, at the same time I don't want to patronize and offend the visitor. Whilst simultaneously, nor do I want to deter, or upset the more savvy user either.

It is a balancing act trying, to get it to be user friendly for all.

The site is currently on DNN 4.3.4 and I intend to upgrade to 4.4.1 very soon.

    The website is: www.drivewaydesign.eu

    All suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks

    Lynn

    Oops! Sorry.

I have just spotted a typing error, but I can't go back to edit.
    The first sentence should read:

    BTW

The image display galleries, the horizontal image menu and the skin is pure css only.

    Hi Lynn,

I would have a look at some of the fonts where you have used Times - eg:
    http://www.drivewaydesign.eu/Driveway.aspx

some headings are times and others are verdana - I wouldn't use Times as it doesn't look right with the verdana style, perhaps try a different font that is sans-serif such as arial etc. or stick with Verdana and format it bold / size etc. rather than use times.

The horizontal menu text I would centre and also make a colour change when you hover over them to make it a bit more obvious that these are links.

In firefox, go to this page:
then hover over the menu - information / materials used - the next sub menu is placed to the right of the information image

    thanks,

    Hi Eureka
I think your site looks fabulous. The only improvement I would suggest trying to establish a better relationship between the seller and the site visitor. I dont feel welcomed and get no idea of what the people who own the site are like or where the service is available. People tend to be wary of jumping straight into the contact page without some of that sort of information.
I think you need some sort of welcome on the front page and obvious links to more information about the vendors.
    Hope that helps
    Mark

    Hi Mark

Thanks for your very helpful commnets. I had not thought about it that way, but you are right. I do need to make it more welcoming.

I really appreciate taking time to view the site and offering your opinion.

    Thanks
    Lynn
