So I find out YESTERDAY (1/17/07) there's this really cool Database driven Content Management appliance called DotNetNuke (not sure where the name comes from), BUT if that weren't enough there are also these modules that have been written for it that allow me to add data driven features to my web site, relatively painlessly...This is too good to be true!

Then today I find this Creative DNN Magazine that's going to help me find the answers to all the questions I have, AND by subscribing I get access to a bunch of modules on a 6-12 month trial basis....

My cup runneth over.

Here's the question:

I got the Enterprise Forms module installed, licensed and apparently operational.
I successfully uploaded some form templates to my website and configured one of them according to the specs in the doc (Template Manager, Data Manager, Workflow Manager)
That's all good and it seems to work in preview mode just fine...

So How do I get a registered user to access this form on my web site?

Hello, welcome to the community!

I have not used enterprise forms, but I should be able to help. You set the access permissions through the page settings and module settings.

When you are logged in as an administrator at the top left you will see page settings.  In the page settings you will see permissions, tick registered users for view permissions. - this will just give registered users access to view the page.

Or, you could give all visitors access to view the page, but change the modules settings. -   Go to the enterprise forms settings menu and there you will also see a permissions option. Tick registered users for view permissions.

I've created a series of video tutorials on working with pages and security roles, and I would suggest you have a good look through them as it will make configuring the modules much easier.

Have a look at:
Issue no 1

DNN Users & Setting the Registration Options

Specifying Required Fields Upon Registration

User Accounts: Adding / Editing / Deleting / Viewing

Working with Security Roles

Assigning a security role to a user account

Basic Introduction to working with pages

Assigning Security Roles to Pages & Modules

Also Issue no 13 covers some of the advanced user techniques available in the latest version of DotNetNuke:

have a look at:

User Accounts new features in DotNetNuke 4.3 and 3.3

User accounts and User Settings in DotNetNuke 4.3 and 3.3

How to Manage Profile Properties in User accounts for DotNetNuke 4.3 / 3.3

Security Roles new features in DotNetNuke 4.3 and 3.3

User Settings (part 2) in DotNetNuke 4.3 and 3.3

That should keep you busy for a while ;-)

Happy Nuking!

Thanks,

Wow...I appreciate the guidance.

It sounds like you are telling me that I add a page and place the forms module on it.

Then I set up the form, then I hide all the form management modules from the user leaving only the form data module for the registered user to see.

Seems like a lot of overhead, but maybe I'll understand more after I plow thru your tutorials.

Thanks

Yes it sounds about right, the tutorials will make it clearer. - Once you've got the basic principles they apply for working with all modules in DNN.
