    Hi Again.

    Again my "Car-Auction-tutorial-Site";
A paid registration and the subscriber get a good PDF book, and a years membership to a public forum where the moderator / host can reply and give advice - as can other members with experience.

Pretty much a copy of this DNN-Creative site. (Sorry for copying you. )

Are the DNN forum module up at good standard now?

What is your good recommendations for the project?

Should I run both Forum and Blog on the site?
    Pros and Cons for that?

Can I run an "over all RSS feed" on teh forum for people who want to watch it in mail or own site?

Lot's of Questions guys - better stop here....

    All the best...

    Olle...

PS;  Which relevant tutorials should I review?

I think that the Forum Module has come a long way.  I prefer ActiveForums (and ActiveSocial) but don't have any hesitation to recommend the DotNetNuke Forum Module.

For the Blog, I think that's your choice.  The DotNetNuke Blog module is in the throes of a new release with lots of new features.  In my mind, a blog is much different than a forum.

An "overall RSS feed" is still difficult.  I  ume that you'd want to feed the forum and the blog.  Doing that will be easier if you were to use one forum as a blog and one forum as a discussion area.

As for which tutorials to view ... depends on your interests and needs.  I tend to look through the list from time to time and review what seems important to me.

I guess the question you should be asking really is what are you trying to achieve by adding a blog?

If you are trying to improve your search engine rankings, a blog can help with this because you will be regularly adding new content to your website. You do not necessarily have to think of this as a blog, think of it as an article module - it is all the same thing, regularly adding content to your website.

Ventrian news articles module is useful for this, and it can provide RSS Feeds.

In terms of RSS, if you wish to have an overall RSS feed that includes RSS from various sources of your website, you will need to search for a third-party service that will do this.

For instance, I use feedburner.com for hosting my RSS feeds - this provides me with stats on my RSS feeds - however it will not provide the service to sum all of your RSS feeds into one RSS feed.

RSS feeds are a very powerful tool as long as you promote your RSS feed to the directories, I would have a look at: Issue no 3 where we covered the use of RSS feeds, check out the book review in that issue, it's worth a read.
