i've added the necessary entries to my skin.css and fckstyles.xml file  as shown in the tutorial.  imageleftside and imagerightside work as shown in the tutorial.  The quoteleft, quoteright, imagerightsidecaption, imageleftsidecaption styles are giving me trouble, however.
For example, I paste some plain text to test with.  if i select a section of this text and use the quoteleft or quoteright, it puts the entire text i pasted into the quoteleft, quoteright.  why isn't it just putting the text I select as the quote instead of the entire paragraph ?  Same thing happens with the imagerightsidecaption and imageleftsidecaption - i select the image and a few words of text and it formats the entire paragraph.  The style is applied to everything between the starting/ending paragraph tags and the paragraph tags are replaced by the div tags.  Any ideas as to what i need to do to fix this?  thanks!

    Hello,

The section of text that you wish to be formatted, make sure it is in it's own paragraph. The quotes will be floating to the left / right, so they will not be part of any other text on the page, so just make sure they are in their own paragraph before selecting them and then they should display ok. Thanks,

    Hi Lee -

    Thanks for your quick response.
In your video - Adding_text_and_images_and_styling_with_css_video6 - you copy and paste a paragraph several times to demo each style.  You then select a sentence within the paragraph and select the quoteonleft /quoteonright style and only that sentence gets the style applied.  when i try it, the entire paragraph that i copied/pasted gets the style.
so, i tried what you suggested - putting the sentence in its own paragraph and then applying the style.  that does work.  but what confuses me is that in your video it appears the sentence you select is within the overall paragraph and not a paragraph of its own.  Am I missing something?

    thanks again
    Rick

    Hi Rick,

In that video, it's an earlier version of the FCK Editor, in the latest version, you will need to make sure the text you select is in its own paragraph.

The later FCK Editor tutorials are with the latest FCK version:
    Hope this helps,
