    Hi,

Is there a way to have folders within a portal or? where images of a certain topic can be organized, versus having all of the photos just in the root by default?

    thanks

Absolutely. You can use the File Manager to create directories, upload files, etc.

thank you... i had assumed that if i .ftp'ed the folders of files to the root that they would show up somewhere. i will pay more attention to the file manager!

    You can certainly use ftp.

If you put files in the installation's root directory, they will be visible to the host's file manager.

If you put files in Portals/N they will be visible to the file manager for portal N.  This is the choice if you want the files to be visible to other users of the portal.

In either case, if you use ftp you will want to make sure that the files are "synchronized."  There is a scheduler option to do this periodiclly.  You can also do it manually with the file manager.
