I have created a user in a portal, who should be able to create content to the site. When the users log on he can not see HTML/Text in the list of available moduls - he can only see a few modules. If I add the user to the Administrators group there is no problem. Any suggestions?

Can he actually add other modules to a page?

I recommend PowerDNN for DotNetNuke Hosting.

Yes he can see and add 4 modules (Account Login, Banners, Feed Explorer, Search Input and Search Result). He has no problems in editing existing HTML.

Hello,

I have the same happening in DNN5.1.4 - it appears as though this configuration has recently been changed in DNN 5.

A user who is given edit permissions for a page can edit the modules on the page and edit the page settings, however they do not have the option to add modules to the page. When I have logged in as a user who has access to edit the page, no modules appear in the module drop-down list.

Modules can only be added to the page by users who have administrator access.

Thanks,

If modules only can be added by users who have administrator access, then I think It's strange that the user can add 4 modules? Do you think there is an error in the program?

I solved the problem, by manually adding the correct permission values to the database table DesktopModulePermission. Does anybody know if these permission can be maintained through the web interface?

Just to follow up, there is a new configuration in DNN 5 for this:

Go to the admin menu / extensions

not host menu

Click on the edit pencil icon for a module, from there you can set which security roles have access to the module
