Having frustrating time with the FCKEditor not displaying text properly when in Rich Text Editor mode.

When switching to either Basic Text Box or Source view, I can see the raw HTML.  In the rich text mode, if text is enclosed in < p > ... < / p > tags it does not display, or displays in microscopic size. Any other HTML tag renders properly.

So far I have tried....

Setting the "HTMLEncoding Output" option to Yes (from Default)
Setting the "Reverse HTML encode output" option to Yes (from Default)
Setting the "CSS Generator Mode" to Dynamic (from Static)

It does not appear to make a difference which skin I use - results are the same...

Have tried to edit from different computers / networks - results are same...

One additional clue - the FCKEditor works fine on my local development server. It does not work on my hosted production server (Verio). Verio does not allow for dynamic writing to web.config - has to be done manually - not sure if that is making a difference or not.

Any thoughts?

Thanks !

Matt

One more symptom...when I change the FCK Editor preferences, they are not saved. I have made sure to check the "Portal" radio button prior to Applying the changes...

Any thoughts?

\Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Fck\FCKeditor\editor\css\fck_editorarea.css and make changes there(ex in body for background...) and important thing is clear the cache in the browser and refresh r run it again

hello,

If the settings are not being saved for the FCK editor, this may mean that the correct read and write permissions on your DotNetNuke installation files are not set. Contact your hosting provider and ask them to reset the correct read and write permissions for running DotNetNuke (occasionally you may find that you need to reset permissions if you have made changes to the files on your website)

Regarding the display of the text - try this as a test, add some text to a page and then change the skin of the page to the default minimal extropy skin and see if the text displays correctly.

It sounds as though there is some skin CSS code resizing anything inside p tags

Thanks,
Lee Sykes
