You can add meta tags using the Page Settings for a particular page.

If you want to add meta tags to every page, you'll want to modify Default.aspx, but it will insert the meta tag on every portal. It will also disappear if you upgrade, so remember to keep a copy.

I can't recall if you can add meta tags in skin files, so you'll want to check on those.

quickest way for the verification code from Google is to go to your home page / page settings / advanced settings
and page header tags

in there paste the code from Google

scroll to the bottom, click update
