Hey guys ... how can i add the housemenu to my template without having to add it as a module ?
I would like to use it in my admin template instead of using the [treeview]

thanks

Okay .... so i've watched the video tutorial on how to use the housemenu skin object ... i've installed, have added the [housemenu] to my skin files, and yet nothing shows up when i upload my skin.

has anyone else seen this ? The menu doesnt seem to render at all ... looking at the ascx file for my skin, it all looks good.
cheers

Nevermind ... it was a style sheet issue with the housemenu not showing up .... all good now.
Althou it is a bit of a pain that some modules for dnn use the admin templates for certain views of the module. ** sigh **

DNN does what it does ... but it sure doesnt do it easily and elegantly ...

cheers

hello lellington,

You should be able to get the house menu to work correctly in an ascx file. If you follow the house menu tutorials through, we create the skin using a HTML file, which when uploaded to DotNetNuke, DotNetNuke automatically converts this into an ascx file.

 - So if you're having problems configuring your ascx file, you could upload the simple red leaf skin and then view the ascx file that DotNetNuke creates within your DotNetNuke installation which should help you to compare and create your own ascx file.

Hope this helps,
