Hi,

Is there any way to display only child tabs of selected tab with DNN:NAV token? I do not want to use DNN: Link Module due to some localization problem. I have tried Level= "child" for DNN: NAV token but it did not work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello,

For your reference here is a link to some NAV Menu Reference Properties

but they don't cover child tabs, have you tried:

(This info is page 18 of the dotnetnuke navigatin web controls pdf in the DNN docs)

Other properties like RootOnly are also going to be depreciated. For to accomplish
the same thing now you would use a combination of new properties.

StartTabId = -1 (Start tab is the root)
ExpandDepth = 1 (We want a single level to be pulled)
PopulateNodesFromClient = False (If we did not have this on the root nodes with
children would be fetched “on demand”)

Thanks for the advice above.  I think it set me in the right direction for what I need to do, but I have one question:

I have a site using the NAV menu where each page has a main menu that shows all tabs, and a second menu that only needs to show the children of the active tab and the levels below them.

My question is this: is there a way to set the StartTabId dynamically (i.e. take the current active tab and use the first child of that tab rather than specifying one tab ID)?

I'm not sure if there is, could be worth asking in the main DNN forum, let us know the outcome.

I would also check this post at snapsis which covers dynamic content in skins:
DotNetNuke Tokens: Some tricks for getting more than SkinPath in your skin.

 thanks,
