    im reading the tutorials now

    i went ahead of myself and tried the portal template but i had an issue on my own pc in which i set up the server using his ez to follow tutorial flawlessly with an error you cant set up a server with the email component not set up. I could probably put in fake stuff and may work but no biggie.

    If you are referring to the SMTP setup, you don't (I think) have to set it up when you install. If I'm wrong, you can plug in information that is made up. You just won't be able to send emails from DotNetNuke.
