hello,

I have not come across a dating module, I would suggest searching through the usual areas such as Snowcovered, let us know if you find something suitable, thanks,

You may want to check out active social module at www.activemodules.com - i have read some mention of dating somewhere, it's basically similar to facebook, but I guess it depends what you require as a dating module. Thanks,

Hi Lee

After an extensive search I am sorry to say I did not find any DNN module with necessary dating features (gap in the market) - I did find what seems to be like an excellent premium application (not DNN related) which I am thinking of using.  I have yet to get it up and running, I hope I am not dissappointed.

Hi Eureka,
We actually have a handful of customers building dating sites with Active Social right now. Feel free to contact us if you would like more details or have any questions.

With ActiveSocial is there a way to create the survey or questionnaire that users fill out about themselves?  I realize that it is easy to create a survey but I'm looking to create a user registration survey with radio buttons that would allow the user to answer a series of questions about themselves (likes, dislikes, religion, etc.) and then have that become a part of their user profile and allow them to be "matched" with others with similar answers.  I realize that this is a pretty simple function on pretty much every dating site, but I have yet to find this function in a DNN module.  Does ActiveSocial do this?  If not, does anyone have an idea of a module that does?

Thanks

Jim

You could capture data like that with a form such as DataSprings Dynamic Forms / Dynamic Registration, but I am unsure how you would then transfer the data into Active Social. - I have not used Active Social so can not provide feedback on the module.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the response.  I thought about that option as well.  What do you think about the "user matching" function?  That seems to be a more challenging issue.  Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Jim

It would probably be worth contacting active modules to see if they have any suggestions on how it could be created. It may need you to create a module to pull together the data.
